Your funnel is full and none of them are buyers
You built the funnel. The forms fire, the follow-up goes out, the calendar fills. Then you sit on the call and realise, four minutes in, that this person was never going to buy. Do that eight times in a week and you stop trusting the whole machine. A member of our Let Go Boss community, Vianie Trimidal in the Philippines, said the same thing out loud on a session: his number one problem was not the build, it was attracting the right audience. That is the version of this problem most people have. The plumbing works. The wrong water is going through it. Here is what we actually change when a client brings us this. ## Nobody can find you because you sound like everyone else There are thousands of people selling marketing, funnels and automation. If your page could have been written by any of them, a stranger has no reason to pick you, so they pick on price. Specialising is the cheapest fix available. Narrow by industry, by the slice you already have proof in, or by the one build you do better than anything else you sell. It does not matter which axis you pick as much as it matters that you pick one. The uncomfortable part: narrowing means turning work away this quarter to get better work next quarter. Most people say they will niche down and then keep taking anyone who pays. If you are not willing to lose a deal over it, you have not niched down, you have written a tagline. ## Write from inside their week, not from inside your service Once you know who it is for, the test for every line you publish is one question: **Could this person have said this about their own situation before they met you?** If yes, it is their voice and it will land. If no, it is your voice, your deliverables, your stack, your process, and it only makes sense from your side of the table. That is the whole difference between "automated intake powered by AI voice agents" and "the call came in at 9pm and someone answered it." Same service. One is a description of a machine. The other is a Tuesday they recognise. Strike every product name, every vendor name and every word for the technology, AI, automation, platform, workflow, agent, out of your own homepage. If there is no sentence left, that is why the wrong people are showing up. You were describing the tool, so you attracted people shopping for tools. ## Know them specifically enough to be wrong Write down what you actually know, in their words, not in categories: - What did they just try that did not work? - What is going wrong in their week right now? - What finally makes them decide to spend money? - Where are they when they start looking? The useful version of this is not "small business owners, 35–55, professional services." That tells you who to buy ads against and nothing else. The useful version is someone who has hired three agencies, been burned twice, and is reading a fourth website at 11pm trying to work out how to tell if this one is different. The second one tells you what to write. If you cannot answer those four questions without guessing, that is the task. Go read your own call notes and support threads before you write another post. ## Give them something small that proves you know the job A lead magnet earns the email by solving one small, specific problem. The kind of thing they would have paid for. A checklist of what to do before listing a house. The five things that go wrong on a first investment property. A walkthrough of the one fix you always end up making. Make it narrow. A broad guide attracts everyone, which puts you right back where you started. ## Then keep showing up, because this is slow None of the above works once. It works on repetition: same audience, same language, same promise, over months. The reason most people conclude that "marketing does not work for my business" is that they changed the message three times before anyone had seen it twice. ## The honest limit Getting the audience right does not make the funnel convert. It removes the excuse. If the right people arrive and still do not book, the problem has moved, to the offer, the price, or the proof on the page, and no amount of targeting fixes any of those. But you cannot diagnose any of it while the wrong people are in the pipe. Start there. --- If you want a second pair of eyes on who your pages are actually speaking to, you can [book a strategy call](/contact).
